Collection: 🏺 Clay Studio

🏺 Clay Studio

At the heart of our Linlithgow studio is our Skutt kiln, supporting a calm, well-equipped space for regular clay makers.

The Clay Studio is designed for adults who want ongoing time to work with clay — whether hand-building or throwing — at their own pace. This is a self-directed studio environment, ideal for developing skills, continuing projects and making regularly.

Rather than one-off classes, the Clay Studio runs on simple monthly memberships, giving you repeat access to shared tools, equipment and studio facilities in a focused, supportive setting.

Beginner-friendly pathways are available for those new to clay, before moving into independent studio use.

What the Clay Studio is

  • Regular, self-led clay sessions for adults

  • Hand-building and wheel throwing at your own pace

  • A calm, shared studio environment

  • Membership-based access for ongoing making

What it isn’t

  • Not a pottery painting session

  • Not a drop-in craft activity

  • Not a supervised children’s space

For families and children, we recommend our pottery painting sessions, kids supervised clay sessions, workshops and holiday activities.

🌱 New to clay? Start here

If you’re new to working with clay, we recommend starting with a beginner-friendly introduction session before joining the Clay Studio.

These sessions are designed to help you:

  • Get comfortable with clay and basic techniques

  • Learn how our studio works

  • Understand equipment, tools and studio processes

  • Decide whether hand-building or wheel throwing is right for you

You’ll be supported and guided, with plenty of time to ask questions.

Once you’re confident, you can move into independent Clay Studio membership, where you’ll work at your own pace alongside other regular makers.

Your pathway into the Clay Studio

  1. Book an introduction session
Learn the basics and get familiar with the studio.

  2. Build confidence
